Assessed applicability of current and leading-edge technologies in the creation of sustainable IT programs in Indonesia.  Managed a team of up to 5 junior technicians and network administrators. Chief technical contributor for proposals, project TORs, e-readiness surveys, and marketing materials. Achievements include:

  • Wireless ISPs. Designed, built, and managed Internet Service Providers in Bandung and Sumedang, West Java, based on wireless 802.11b and frequency-hopping technologies. Formulated service packages, and created specialized spreadsheet tools for projecting costs, profit, and loss for rural ISP operations. The Sumedang ISP is operated in conjunction with local government and has been recognized by international donor agencies as an important example of public-private sector cooperation in the creation of sustainable rural IT infrastructure in Indonesia.
  • LAN/WAN Systems Specialist, Government Financial Management and Revenue Administration Project (GFMRAP). A World Bank/Indonesian Ministry of Finance consulting project to design an integrated financial management information system uniting several hundred regional offices under a centralized database. Responsible for readiness assessment, RFP WAN/LAN infrastructure design recommendations, and resource optimization. These recommendations are now scheduled for implementation by 2007.
  • Feasibility Studies, Initiatives for Local Governance Reform. An e-government study for rural communities in Indonesia, part of a larger project to build public/private sector partnerships to deliver connectivity, public access, and local e-government services to promote good governance, transparency and pro-poor investments.
