Description
: E-government feasibility study for rural communities in Indonesia. Part of a larger project to build public/private sector partnerships to deliver connectivity, public access, and local e-government services in support of mission objectives to promote good governance, transparency and pro-poor investments. Role: Contributing consultant, responsible for sections on e-government concepts and readiness assessment tools. Dates: Jul-Aug 2002.

Computer Based Training & Curriculum Development

Description: Web-based English-language training extension. A nine-hour "module" that provides students with the opportunity to express themselves individually and as a class on the World Wide Web. With the instructor’s help, each class creates a website which is then developed at each successive level of study, reflecting the changing membership and interests of the class, and providing a written record by which students can judge their own progress over the years. View the results here. Role: Project developer, manager, and teacher-trainer.

Description: One-month pilot course in basic website design using Microsoft FrontPage 2000. The course employs completely original materials and is aimed at students with minimal computer skills. At the end of the course, each student has produced their own website, which is then hosted on the main company internet site. Role: Project developer and instructor.

Role: Chief consultant and technician, with 2 junior assistants. Company Profile: An educational institution with subsidiaries offering university preparatory classes for students studying overseas, as well as EFL training at several locations in Indonesia. Physical Scope: One floor in a centrally-located Jakarta high-rise, 38 workstations. Network Model: Windows 2000 domain (3 servers), legacy Windows NT4 domain (1 server), mixed Windows 95/98//2000 client environment. Network Services: Authentication, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, roaming and local user profiles, Internet proxy with caching, enterprise antivirus services, remote administration, centralized file storage and automated backups. Dates: Sep-Oct 2002.

Role: Chief consultant and technician. Company Profile: IT consulting firm with local and international clientele, including the World Bank. Physical Scope: 5 rooms of converted suburban residence, 8 workstations. Network Model: Windows 2000 domain (1 server), mixed Windows 98/2000 client environment. Network Services: Authentication, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, enterprise antivirus services, centralized file storage and automated backups. Dates: Sep 2002.
