Not everyone knows where Java is.
Start with a globe. Put Indonesia smack dab in the center...

Now zero in a bit on Indonesia. You can see the island of Java in the lower middle of the map, with Jakarta the capital city. You can see the island of Bali, with Denpasar its largest city, just to the right of Java.

Now zoom in on Java. Bandung, where I live now, is in the western part of the island. The articles in this section concern beliefs more prevalent in the central part, around Yogyakarta and Surakarta (also known as Solo).
